Joel Schwartz
Joel’s father was a small business owner, and as such, Joel has a passion and intimate knowledge of the issues applicable to the interests of the small business owner. An experienced court room advocate, Joel is not afraid to take on the largest adversaries or the longest odds. Even as Joel passionately fights for his clients, he never loses site of the business realities of litigation and always has an eye towards an equitable settlement.
Practice Highlights
Joel has handled complex bankruptcy cases, non-compete cases on behalf of franchisors, cease and desist matters and numerous other types of business disputes that commonly arise in the franchisor/franchisee relationship. In addition to state and federal court, Joel has handled arbitrations, mediations and direct negotiated solutions to every kind of business dispute imaginable. Joel has a Master of Laws in Taxation (LLM) and can advise clients on almost all aspects of tax, business planning and transactions. And when transactions don’t go as planned, Joel’s real passion and skills are on display as an experienced trial attorney.
A sought-after lecturer, Joel is as informative as he is entertaining. He brings extensive experience in addition to litigation including commercial transactions, tax estate planning and estate administration as well as those matters involving representation before federal, state and/or local taxing authorities.
