Three Founders, One Mission: How 3-Day Kitchen & Bath and Spadea Lignana are Transforming the Market

3 Day Kitchen & Bath 3 Day Kitchen & Bath Co-Founder Scott Goode spent a decade learning what not to do in the remodeling business before he found a model that actually worked.

GoodeGuy Construction, the company he founded in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1992, had all the surface markings of a going concern. He had a solid team, a full schedule, and consistent volume year over year, but what his business didn’t have was margin. The hours were long, the overhead was heavy, and the payoff never seemed to catch up. “I had ten employees,” Scott says. “I was doing a great volume at the end of the year, but I was making no money.”

His customers were largely satisfied, but they kept raising the same concern in surveys: the work was fine, the wait was not. Remodeling a kitchen or bathroom meant weeks, sometimes months, of disruption. When Scott encountered a Utah-based company called 3 Day Kitchen and Bath that had engineered a system for completing full renovations in three days, it reframed everything he thought he knew about how the business could operate. He joined as a dealer in 2004 and built his Nebraska territory around the 3 Day model for the next twenty years.

Mike Wallace and Sam Tidwell were doing the same in their own markets, each having found their way to the brand independently and built operations of their own. By 2025, the three had enough shared history with the brand to see clearly what it could become. They acquired it together, converted it to a franchise model in early 2026, and carried a combined quarter-century of hands-on experience into the launch.

Built for Speed, Backed by Guaranteed Expertise

Before and after 3 Day Kitchen & Bath

The remodeling industry has a reputation problem, and 3 Day Kitchen and Bath was designed to solve it. Small, disorganized operators dominate the market, timelines routinely slip, and homeowners have largely accepted that a kitchen or bathroom renovation means months of disruption and uncertainty. The 3 Day model enters that environment with a different offer entirely and offers a complete renovation, from floor to ceiling, in three days or less, with a satisfaction guarantee behind every job.

The brand’s scope is genuinely comprehensive. Cabinetry, countertops, tile, flooring, plumbing, electrical, and paint are all included, managed through a single point of contact and delivered on a fixed schedule. A mobile showroom comes to the client’s home, removing the need to coordinate across multiple suppliers or make decisions in a showroom environment. A 90-minute consultation captures the client’s vision, and a custom design presentation follows shortly after, complete with a guaranteed price. The process is designed to eliminate the surprises that have made the traditional remodeling experience so frustrating for homeowners.

For franchise owners, the operational structure is designed to be manageable by one person. There are no employees to hire or manage. Franchisees direct a team of licensed subcontractors who handle the on-site work, while the franchisee focuses on sales, design, client communication, and project coordination. The business can be run from a home office, requires no retail footprint, and is structured around high-value jobs that make the model financially meaningful even at modest volume.

The people doing the work are held to a standard the brand calls the Grandma Test. Every subcontractor who enters a client’s home has to be someone you would trust working in your grandmother’s house for three consecutive days. It reflects what Scott identifies as the brand’s core value. “Integrity is the first thing,” he says.

Building the Foundation for a National Brand

Acquiring the brand and recognizing the model’s growth potential was the straightforward part of the journey. Turning it into a franchise was where the real education began.

When Scott, Mike, and Sam completed their purchase of 3 Day Kitchen and Bath, the operational foundation was already solid. What they were less prepared for was the regulatory and legal architecture that a formal franchise system requires. State registration processes, mandatory disclosure timelines, and the specific demands of franchise compliance were largely unfamiliar ground, and the complexity of the process across different jurisdictions caught them off guard more than once.

Spadea Lignana guided them through it. The firm handled the Franchise Disclosure Document buildout and state registration filings, and brought broader expertise in franchise law and brand development that proved valuable well beyond the initial launch. “I don’t know how you could really do it by yourself,” Scott says, “You really need a team to help do it.” Learning to work within the compliance process rather than around it was its own adjustment, and having experienced legal counsel set the pace made that transition considerably more manageable.

The franchise launched in January 2026, with sixteen franchisees now in the system and four more expected to join in the coming months. The co-founders divided responsibilities in a way that plays to their individual strengths: Scott focuses on franchise sales and development, drawing on the same consultative approach he used selling remodeling projects to homeowners for two decades. Mike leads marketing and brand strategy. Sam oversees operations and franchisee support. Together, they bring a depth of firsthand experience to the franchisor role that most emerging brands simply don’t have on day one.

Scaling a Brand That Puts Owners First

BEfore and After for 3 Day Kitchen & Bath

The brand’s long-range vision is straightforward: a 3 Day Kitchen and Bath franchise in every city in America. It’s an ambitious target grounded in a model the co-founders have watched work across multiple markets for over two decades.

What Scott wants for the franchise owners who build toward that vision alongside them is something he can speak to from hard experience. He knows what it feels like to pour everything into a business and come up short at year-end, and the franchise was designed with that knowledge baked in. “I want every single person that comes on to have their life changed,” he says, “to make a great living and not have that stressful life, but be able to have the time to spend with your family if you choose to do that.”

That purpose connects the beginning of Scott’s story to everything he and his partners have built since. From its inception as a remodeling company that couldn’t make the math work to its emergence as a franchise system engineered to solve that problem, 3 Day Kitchen and Bath is, at its core, a business built by people who learned what not to do and turned that knowledge into something others can build a life around.
